Purify

Mother, I am home, at long last, I am finally here, it’s been fifteen summers long, since my feet kissed the earth since I bathed in your cosmic light since I felt your embrace. Mother, I revere you— you are the one who gave me life, the one who made me in your image, whose face I see in every woman, in life itself. Mother, I am here now— to inherit the earth, to speak the language of our people of time, of present, of past and future, of love.
